Morning Pup Smoothies

Morning time for a lot of families are busy and chaotic! From the moment your alarm goes off you are on the move! Well, I definitely can relate! The first thing I do in the morning is put my robe on and jam to the back yard to let Sedona out. Potty Time! haha! Im not a morning person naturally and I can say the same for my sweet Sedona! She likes to stay in bed and snuggle. Going outside isn’t on her agenda at all! …. But these morning smoothies are just the key to change that! I open the freezer door and her attention is sparked! When she sees the smoothie treats shes alert and ready to roll! I open the back door and she is sitting ready for her morning treat! I say that’s a success! Perfect dog mom life hack!

Packed with delicious and nutritious ingredients to satisfy your pups pallet and body! In previous blog posts I have talked about the benefits in giving dogs coconut oil! Check them out to find out all you need to know about the health benefits for your pup!

513880257I want to talk about Greek yogurt! Did you know that Greek yogurt is good for your dog? Greek yogurt is higher in protein which is great for your pup! It also has higher levels of probiotics which is good for your dogs stomach! Greek yogurt helps strengthen the immune system as well! Remember that Greek yogurt still is dairy so if your pup is lactose sensitive you could adjust the recipe to your needs!

I use FAGE Greek Yogurt! Should be sold in most grocery stores. Always make sure you buy the plain, unflavored and unsweetened kind no matter what brand you choose.

Morning Smoothie Recipe

1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt (unsweetened)

1/8 cup Coconut Oil

1/2 Banana (mashed)

1/2 cup unsweetened Apple Sauce

(optional) top off with small dog treat or biscuit of your choosing

How to get the Tree Molds?

In the spirit of the Holiday season I used tree shapes!! So fun and festive! I always try to use these flexi-molds to make freezing easy and the treat removal process simple and quick! I also prefer when making frozen treats to make smaller batches to ensure consistent freshness! Only the best for my rescue babies!
